Folds

Photographs documenting my experiences of travelling around Japan and exploring Tokyo in the course of a five-week residency at AIT (Arts Initiative Tokyo) dedicated to folds. I had chosen to work on a theme at once abstract and concrete, one that allowed for endless variations. Folds became a meditative focus of sorts that I returned to again and again, whether faced with a natural or an artificial landscape, an item of apparel or furniture, architectural elements, or the body.
